Worldwide access to clean water increases from 79% to 90% of global population

 As you can see in the graph above, the share of the population with access to clean water grew by more than 10 percentage points over the last 20 years.

When looking at this graph, please consider that according to the U.S. Census Bureau in 1995 the global population was about 5.7 billion, in 2015 it was 7.25 billion. That means there were roughly 4.6 billion people with access to clean water in 1995 and about 6.5 billion in 2015!

We have managed to provide almost 2 billion more people with access to clean water within 20 years!!!

I would say this officially counts as huge victory and should give everyone hope for the future.
