Scientists recently discovered that the hole in the ozone layer – as of September 2015 – was 4 million(!) square kilometers (1.5 million square miles!) smaller, than it was in the year 2000. By comparison, this is about 30% larger than India!
This means that our actions reducing the use of CFCs has paid off and according to a report from the Express in October 2015, NASA scientists say that the ozone hole should be already half closed by 2020.
